About Crown Lengthening
Crown lengthening is a gum and bone procedure that exposes more of a tooth. It is used when a tooth is broken below the gum line or has too little tooth above the gum to hold a crown or filling, and sometimes to reshape a gummy smile. It is done by a dentist or periodontist, usually under local anesthetic.
