About Preventive Hygiene

Preventive hygiene visits focus on keeping teeth and gums healthy. A hygienist removes plaque and tartar, polishes the teeth, checks the gums and gives advice on brushing, flossing and diet. Some visits include fluoride or sealants. How often you need a visit depends on your oral health, and the dentist can suggest a schedule.
