About Dental Implants

A dental implant is a small post, usually made of titanium, placed in the jawbone to replace the root of a missing tooth. After the implant fuses with the bone, a crown, bridge or denture is attached to it. Implants are used to replace a single tooth, several teeth or a full arch. The dentist usually takes X-rays and reviews your dental history before planning treatment.
